Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

Apoka Safari Lodge sits in the heart of Kidepo Valley National Park, tucked into the north-eastern corner of Uganda, where it meets Sudan and Kenya.

Rooms at Apoka Safari Lodge

The ten spacious tented rooms have natural canvas walls, furniture handmade by local craftsmen, king-sized beds with nets, hardwood floors and handwoven carpets. The private bathrooms come with a solar power shower and an outdoor stone bathtub. The verandas look out across the endless savannah and its wildlife, so you can do some wildlife-spotting from your room.

Food & Drink

The main gathering area includes an open air bar, lounge and dining room, all built with local wood, thatch and canvas.

Facilities

The swimming pool, carved into the rock, offers a memorable place for a dip - it has views of the savannah and the nearby waterhole where the wildlife come to drink.

Activities at Apoka Safari Lodge

The abundance of wildlife in Kidepo makes game drives an exhilarating experience, and these include night drives and guided walking safaris. The expansive, wildlife-rich landscapes are truly sensational, and among the animals you may spot are lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes and zebras - this is the only park in Uganda where giraffes and elephants are seen together - as well as large herds of buffaloes and more.

Guests can also go birdwatching and visit the local Karamojong community.
