Hotel Overview

Sense of place

Buhoma Lodge is on Bwindi Impenetrable Forest's doorstep which is alive and teeming with a number of species, the most notable of which is the mountain gorilla.

Rooms at Buhoma Lodge

The lodge comprises 10 treehouse-style chalets, each carefully built with locally-sourced materials. Their best feature is the private balcony where you can take in panoramic views of the verdant woodlands, which are close enough for you to hear the birds sing in the morning. The spacious en suites have rain showers which are much needed to help you relax and cool off after a day of exploring.

The eco-friendly chalets also have insect-proof windows and eco-friendly solar lighting, plus a lounge with an open fireplace to curl up by in the evenings.

Food & drink

The restaurant offers fresh meals that are made from local ingredients and you can move to the bar afterwards to sample some local (and international) drinks. We recommend dining al fresco to enjoy the views, and then afterwards relaxing in the outdoor lounge area, looking down at the magnificent treetops below.

Facilities

All guests at Buhoma Lodge are treated to a complimentary massage by the skilled in-house masseuse. Complimentary laundry and hiking-boot-cleaning services are offered too – perfect for after a muddy gorilla trek.

Activities at Buhoma Lodge

On gorilla trekking expeditions you can have the once-in-a-lifetime experience of seeing these charismatic primates in their natural environment.
