African Island Hopping

Zanzibar, Pemba & the Islands

East Africa’s gorgeous Indian Ocean beaches are often overlooked in favour of its big game, but we think they’re worth celebrating. There’s all the charm of village life alongside the barefoot beach lodges, and ancient creaking dhows floating over top-notch dive spots. It’s a slower, gentler way of life and the perfect way to restore your senses!
Perfect forDiving and an unspoilt beach experience.
In the knowFor a third beach stop consider Fundu Lagoon on Pemba Island or Ras Kutani on the mainland coast.

Mafia Island

4 nightsMAFIA ISLAND

Fly to Dar es Salaam before connecting on to your light aircraft flight down to Mafia Island, where you'll spend four nights at Pole Pole Lodge. Allow your cares to drift away on the sea breezes as you have picnics on the lovely offshore sandbanks, go diving and snorkelling in the Marine Park, and a potter around the charming and thoroughly unspoilt villages nearby.

Unguja Views

4 nightsZANZIBAR ISLAND

At the end of your stay, head back to the airstrip (complete with a tiny thatched “waving bay”) for a short hop up to Zanzibar Airport. Compared to the tranquillity of Mafia, crumbling old Stone Town feels like quite the metropolis, so we’ll whisk you out of town to Unguja Lodge for four nights. There’s another offshore marine park for divers, the chance to swim with dolphins at nearby Kizimkazi, and the spice plantations just begging to be explored.

Stone Town, Zanzibar, Tanzania

1 nightSTONE TOWN

On your last morning, head in to the hustle and bustle of Stone Town to barter for some goodies to take home with you. A glass of sugar cane juice as the sun sets over the bay is a fitting end to your adventure. You'll spend the night at one of the city's best hotels before rising early for your light aircraft hop over to Dar es Salaam. From here, you'll connect on to your homeward flight.
