The Manor at Ngorongoro

The Dutch-Colonial style of The Manor is quite unique for Tanzania, and rather than being in the bush, it’s on the rolling hills of a coffee plantation. As an elegant base to explore the famous crater, we highly recommend The Manor at Ngorongoro.
Perfect forAn elegant and homely retreat in the highlands of Tanzania.

Hotel Overview

Where

Just 10 minutes from Karatu, and 40 minutes from Ngorongoro Crater.

Rooms at The Manor

The 10 two-bedroom cottages at The Manor are dotted around the main farmhouse, on the beautifully tended lawns. All are spacious but cosy, and furnished in Colonial style. Best of all are the beautiful views over the rolling hills and coffee plantation.

Food and Facilities

Dinner is silver service, and lunch is more casual, but all food is deliciously fresh as most of it comes from their farm and gardens. We particularly recommend their homemade ice-cream!

Activities at The Manor

Real highlights are picnics and game drives in the Ngorongoro Crater, which has awe-inspiring volcanic landscapes and a unique collection of wildlife. You'll also want to visit beautiful Lake Manyara. In case you want a break, there’s a spa, cinema, and library back at The Manor, and they can also arrange horse-riding.
