Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

Kwihala Camp is located in Ruaha National Park, a prime location for spotting lions among a range of other game. Surrounded by greenery and wildlife, the camp rests in the Mwagusi Valley facing the Mwagusi Sand River. It is within a short distance of the baobab plains and the rock koppies known to be frequented by leopards.

Rooms at Kwihala Camp

The camp has six tents with a simple but luxurious feel to them. The signature baobab emblem features on the furnishings, and the rustic furniture and warm colours create an elegant and romantic vibe in each tent. Private bathrooms with flushing toilets and safari bucket showers are available, and every tent also has its own veranda, ideal for unwinding al fresco.

Food & Drink

Dine communally in the mess tent or outside under the stars by the river bed. Private dining can also be arranged if you are celebrating a special occasion. The chefs prepare a diverse range of locally sourced ingredients to create quality dishes every mealtime.

The main lounge area with views to the river bed provides a shaded area to unwind with a good book between safari adventures. Retreat to the campfire each evening to gather for pre-dinner drinks with your fellow guests and your amiable hosts.

Activities at Kwihala Camp

The camp can arrange morning and afternoon game drives with excellent guides. Exhilarating night drives and walking safaris are also available, which we can book in advance for you. During your safari adventures, your skilled safari tracker guides will be in pursuit of the big cats that roam Ruaha’s wilds - huge lion prides plus leopards and cheetahs call the national park home.
