Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

Franschhoek Country House and Villas occupies a restored manor house and former perfumery dating back to 1890. It is nestled in the Franschhoek valley, surrounded by mountains and vineyards, just on the outskirts of the town of Franschhoek and just an hour's drive from Cape Town.

Rooms at Franschhoek Country House & Villas

Guests can stay in the original Country House or opt for a Villa Suite. There are 12 rooms and two Garden Cottages in the Country House, all with plush beds and private balconies overlooking the gardens and fountains, and some have a lounge area. The double-storey Garden Cottages have private gardens and patios and an upstairs lounge with panoramic views over the vineyards.

The 12 opulent and spacious Villa Suites are generously laid out around the hotel’s beautiful grounds and have lavish interiors featuring separate bedrooms and lounge areas, as well as two private balconies to take in the views. Retreat inside in the evenings, where you can warm up with underfloor heating and cosy fireplaces.

Food & Drink

The award-winning Monneaux restaurant offers gourmet cuisine and fine wines that make the most of South Africa’s acclaimed food and drink scene. Try innovative dishes such as beef fillet with chocolate soil and seafood risotto with lime salt, and enjoy your meal on the terrace under the pepper tree, or indoors in the elegant dining room. There’s also a bar that’s a perfect spot for a glass of South African wine.

Facilities

Cool off with a refreshing swim in one of the two outdoor pools, or relax on a poolside lounger, taking in the panoramic mountain views. If you fancy a bit of pampering, head to the spa for a massage.
