3 nightsMADIKWE

Flying into Johannesburg, you’ll then take a light plane to Madikwe Game Reserve, an ideal introduction to the African bush.  Set in the northern corner of South Africa, on the border with Botswana, Madikwe has sweeping savannahs filled with major game, including lions, leopards, elephants, Cape buffalo, both white and black rhinos, cheetahs, African wild dogs, hyenas and giraffes.

A staggering translocation programme transformed Madikwe into the wildlife haven it is today, and as well as the now abundant wildlife, the programme benefits the local community, giving visitors an adventure with a serious feel-good factor.

You’ll spend your first three nights of your honeymoon at the luxurious Madikwe Hills, sleeping in a glass-fronted suite with you own veranda and private plunge pool. Game drives are the order of the day, but if you want to forgo the early wake up, swap the morning game drive for a spa treatment underneath a grove of tamboti and marula trees.

3 nightsGANSBAAI

Flying across the length of South Africa, you’ll take a light aircraft transfer back to Johannesburg for a connecting flight to Cape Town - favoured as the Mother City to many. Here, you will collect your car and take the scenic and coastal road, past Hermanus, which is definitely worth a visit, to the town of Gansbaai, home to one of the most beautiful stretches of beach found along the Garden Route.

Famous for its dense population of marine giants, such as great white sharks and southern right whales, this is a prime location for some sea life spotting. You’ll have three nights at Grootbos, nestled between mountain and sea where there is no shortage of activities: spend your days horse riding, birdwatching, hiking, or exploring nature on scenic marine and coastal drives.

Walk along the sandy shores of Walker Bay, dive beneath the waters in a cage to come face to face with a great white or drive to Cape Agulhas, Africa’s southernmost point and the official dividing line between the Atlantic and Indian oceans.

3 nightsCAPE TOWN

Overlooking Clifton’s four beautiful beaches with great views of Table Mountain and the 12 Apostles range, the chic Cape View Clifton is your final stop, located just 30 minutes from Cape Town’s city centre. From Gansbaai you’ll drive back to Cape Town – we’d recommend detouring via the Cape Peninsula to spot the Africa penguins at Simon’s Town and whales in False Bay.

Setting up along the Atlantic Seaboard, make it your mission to sample the fresh seafood, try the great wines and tick off the incredible highlights of this glorious city. You can be as active or as immersed as you like, opting to climb up and then jump off Table Mountain or simply take the cable car. You can career through the lush Cape vineyards, powering past the rows of grapes on a bike or leisurely hop on and off a scenic wine tram, tasting the produce as you meander through the estates.

Whatever you choose, make sure you are on the coast at sunset for a truly magnificent sundowner, watching as the soft pink and orange glow slowly fades to black and the glittering lights of the city come out.
