Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

Singita Castleton is nestled in pretty gardens within an impressive 45,000-acre private reserve, so you can revel in plenty of seclusion and natural beauty here. The vast, uninterrupted skies of the Sabi Sand also make this a great spot for some impressive stargazing.

Rooms at Singita Castleton

There are six cottages scattered around the grounds, offering privacy and seclusion as well as unrivalled luxury. All have a rustic, colonial feel, with big plush beds, arched wooden-beamed ceilings hung with chandeliers, and colourful African artefacts decorating the rooms. The more modern, monochrome bathrooms feature stylish black-and-white tiling, wall art depicting local flora, and large bathtubs for a relaxing soak. The cottages have lovely views of the lodge’s pretty grounds and the game reserve beyond.

Food & Drink

Food at Singita Castleton takes the form of international gourmet cuisine featuring fresh, local produce and a menu that changes with the seasons, from fresh summer salads to hearty roasts and everything in between – the hotel even has its own pastry chef. Lunchtime picnics are often laid on which stretch long into the afternoon, while come nightfall, you can dine by candlelight under the stars. The food is washed down with an extensive menu of fine wines from the wine cellar.

You can also enjoy cooking lessons with the award-winning chefs and wine tastings with expert sommeliers.

Facilities

There is a pool to cool off in, spa treatments to indulge in and a tennis court and gym if you prefer to be more active. In the evening, hang out in the country-style kitchen or by the cosy fireplace in the main farmstead, or gather around the traditional boma – a kind of traditional gathering place with uninterrupted views over the waterhole and its regular wildlife visitors.

Activities at Singita Castleton

Head out on private daily game drives and walking safaris with your own guide to see majestic wildlife such as elephants, zebras, buffaloes, lions, rhinos and hippos, and experience the reserve’s elusive nocturnal life on night-time excursions. All activities are tailored to suit you, and you also have the opportunity to visit local villages and communities and learn more about the Tsonga culture.

If you have children in tow, they'll love making pizza with the chef, enjoying bush walks and mountain biking, as well as going on the mini rangers' course, where they can track animals and learn bush survival techniques.
