Hotel Overview

Where

Spread across the vast expanse of grasslands in Kruger National Park and Sabi Sands Game Reserve.

Rooms at

Singita Ebony: The designers at Singita Ebony have perfected a style all too rare in safari lodges. The suites are luxurious and stuffed with modern comforts, but thanks to the fire-places and riot of glorious colour, they have real character and are very cosy. Outside you can have an alfresco shower, or cool off in your private plunge pool.

Singita Lebombo: Expect absolute luxury. The large beds in each of the 15 luxury suites are dressed with Egyptian cotton and delicate silky-soft throws, and if you manage to take yourself from beneath the sheets to your sundeck, you’ll find the spectacular Kruger National Park stretched out in front of you; a magnificent vista that simply couldn’t be more ‘Africa’. With an open-plan lounge, a bar area and library, your luxurious suite is designed with relaxation in mind, and in a natural habit of such beauty and tranquillity, it’s easy to lose yourself in each hour that passes.

Singita Boulders: The lodge’s 12 splendid suites offer total luxury and nothing less, gazing over the majestic Sabi River, which is frequently visited by elephants and leopards looking to quench their thirst. Remote and serene, most of the suites are beautifully intimate, while others are larger and suitable for families – and all offer utmost luxury in a simply sublime location.

Food and facilities

As with elsewhere in South Africa, food and wine is excellent. Breakfast is taken out on the deck overlooking stunning views – when we visited we saw a leopard peeking out at us from the reeds below! Lunches are slow and relaxed, while the evening meal is a more formal affair. Along with gently glowing candles and lanterns, a scattering of tiny lights twinkling in the treetops illuminate the otherwise pitch black night, and shed a little light on the restaurant’s outdoor dining area. In the stillness and tranquillity of the South African bush, dine on international cuisine or on local specialities, accompanied by wine recommended by the lodge’s sommeliers.

Activities at Singita

Accompanied by the guides and trackers who know the bush best, while on safari keep an eye out for lions and leopards, elephants and rhino. On your return, if you’re looking for something more tranquil than the excellent gym (where you can gaze out over the Kruger during your routine!), enjoy a massage to the sounds of whistling kingfishers, take a dip in the lap pool in the African sun, or sample South Africa’s best wine with the resident sommelier, who can find something for every palate in the lodge’s vast wine cellar.
