Hotel Overview

Where

5 – 10 minutes' walk to the sea at Plettenberg Bay, on the Garden Route.

Rooms at The Plettenberg

You won’t need much persuasion to opt for a sea-view room, with step-out balconies and the chance to see whales and dolphins passing by, but whichever one you go for, each of the 37 suites is unique and decorated in fresh whites and pastels. For families with children, or anyone who wants to totally flop, The Plettenberg also has two gorgeous villas, with mountain views and private pools.

Food and Facilities

The Plettenberg’s Sand restaurant has un-rivalled views over Formosa Bay, and equally inspiring South African cuisine. As for sampling the region’s wines, there’s a trendy bar and a cosy wine-cellar for intimate dinners, and if you’d like to head out in the evenings, they can arrange a babysitter. The hotel also has a gorgeous spa – perfect after a day of exploring.

Activities at The Plettenberg

The Garden Route is home to the highest bungee-jumping site in the world, but if you don’t fancy plunging off the famous Bloukrans Bridge, there are plenty of relaxed activities too! Mornings are perfect for bracing walks on the beach – perhaps spotting whales and dolphins on the way – before riding in the afternoon, and spa treatments back at The Plettenberg.
