Rooms at HillsNek Safari Camp

There are just four elegantly decorated tented chalets. Each is colossal, with massive beds, a pair of reading chairs, tea and coffee making facilities, en suite bathrooms with his and her sinks and romantic outdoor showers. The canvas but permanent tents are also raised, meaning the views from the decking area and from the rolled up canvas windows are superb.

food and drink

The thatched main lodge consists of an open plan lounge, bar and dining room, where you can take your bush-inspired meals overlooking the surrounding vegetation and sunset from the deck. Evenings are spent around the outdoor fireplace, admiring the stunning star-scape, unwinding with a drink in the bar and then dining on divine game meats and organic produce.

Facilities

The main lodge’s infinity pool also has views that stretch across the reserve, but don’t surprised if an elephant or two come by for a drink and a water fight while you’re having an afternoon dip.

Activities at HillsNek Safari Camp

During the morning game drives, look out for big cats just waking up or elephants seeking a morning feast and in the afternoons, make sure to scan the horizon for circling scavengers, a tell-tale sign of a recent hunt, which could include lions guarding a kill with hyenas, jackals and vultures hovering nearby. You can break up the safaris with a round of golf, a sunset river cruise or a guided bush walk outside of the Big Five area.
