Hotel Overview

Where

Only an hour and a half drive from Port Elizabeth, nestled in the barren beauty of Addo’s Big Five park.

Rooms at Gorah Elephant Camp

Sheltered under thatched canopies and set on raised wooden porches, Gorah’s 11 tented suites are luxurious and spacious, recalling the golden era of safari in the early 1900s and recapturing the romantic mystique. Each tent has its own private teak deck overlooking the savannah plains, en suite facilities, cow-skin footrests, king size beds with 300 count cotton linen and comfy chairs.

Food and facilities

Guest facilities are in the historic and beautifully set Gorah Manor House. Indoor dining is a culinary occasion with candle-lit corners, whilst outdoor dining is al fresco on the open veranda with views over the waterhole or under the African sky in the outdoor boma.

Activities at Gorah Elephant Camp

With two daily game drives, each around three hours long, you will have ample opportunity to spot elephant, buffalo, warthog, zebra, rhino, ostrich and lion. In between the safaris, you can laze by the pool with a delicious cocktail or keep an eye on the waterhole, often visited by large herds of elephant.
