Hotel Overview

sense of place

Sea Five sits just 300 metres from Camps Bay, a famous beach which attracts Cape Town’s beautiful people as well as a great many foreign visitors. In the shadow of Table Mountain and overlooked by the Twelve Apostles, some of South Africa’s most famous natural landmarks serve as the backdrop to this beautiful hotel.

rooms at sea five

Sea Five is home to just 7 rooms and suites, each of which is individually designed by leading interior designers Francois du Plessis and Nicolò Stortiglione Pudel. In keeping with the Mediterranean theme, the linen is Italian, the décor is traditional, and the colour scheme is bright and breezy, making full use of the ocean views outside your window; the Penthouse Suite boasts no fewer than 4 private terraces. The Garden Room has an adjoining private courtyard.

food & drink

An extensive breakfast is served each morning at Sea Five and light meals are available by the pool, but for a more substantial lunch and dinner you’ll have to look elsewhere. Happily, there are no shortage of top-class restaurants in Camps Bay – favourites include the sumptuous steaks at Hussar Grill, and Mezepoli Meze & Wine Bar.

facilities

If the bustle of Camps Bay gets too much, or you’ve had enough of seeing and being seen on the fashionable strip, then retreat to the serenity of the hotel’s beautiful pool, a stunning place to enjoy a light meal or a cocktail as you watch the sun go down. Please note that Camps Bay is an adults-only retreat, and families with children are not normally encouraged to stay.

activities at Sea Five

Besides being a favourite destination for holidaying celebrities and visiting film crews, Camps Bay is a fantastic destination for water sports, with surfing, jet skiing, swimming and volleyball all popular activities. Camps Bay is also a great place to shop, whether you’re after designer boutiques or one-of-a-kind handicrafts to serve as a reminder of your stay or a gift for loved ones back home. For a little bit of peace and quiet, head to the Clifton beaches, and for a shot of culture make your way to the Theatre on the Bay, where international and local dance, music and theatre shows are held each evening.
