Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

Shipwreck Lodge sits on the north-west coast of Namibia, better known as the Skeleton Coast, not far from the icy waters of the Atlantic Ocean.

Rooms at Shipwreck Lodge

There are 10 unique cabins, designed to resemble shipwrecks that look out across the beach to the Atlantic Ocean. They are comfortably furnished, with wood-burning stoves to help ward off the cold in the evenings.

Food & Drink

Despite the remote location the food here is exceptional, and you can watch the local wildlife from the deck while enjoying an evening sundowner.

Facilities

The main lodge has a wonderful view out across the beach and there is a warm and cosy feel to it, with a log burner which takes the chill off in the evenings, when cold winds and fog can come in from the Atlantic.

Activities at Shipwreck Lodge

Guests coming to Shipwreck Lodge are serious about exploring this incredibly wild and unspoilt area so the activities on offer mirror this. Game drives within the Skeleton Coast National Park are very popular, with some guests fortunate enough to see lions and hyenas on the beaches.

Trips to the distinctive rock formations the Clay Castles, Hoanib River Valley and Mowe Bay seal colony are a great way to spend time, as are drives to the Karimona and Suiderkus shipwrecks. Most days are rounded off by sundowner drinks in the dunes surrounding the lodge.
