Hotel Overview

Where

Overlooking the main water source of Etosha National Park, on the Onguma Reserve.

Rooms at Onguma The Fort

You might be surprised to find that Onguma The Fort is Moroccan-inspired, but it really works amongst the colours and textures of the desert. Each of the 12 suites are totally private, spaced well away from the rest, and driven to and from by golf buggy.

The interiors couldn’t be more stylish with rough stone fire-places for cold desert nights, but it’s the outdoor shower and decking area with sun-loungers that has us drooling.

Food and Facilities

Everyone raves about the food here, and it’s no wonder with the passionate chef who personally introduces the menu each day. Dining is also enhanced by the beautiful singing-voices of the staff who give a choral rendition each evening!

Outside, there’s a Moroccan style courtyard with waterfalls, stepping stones, and a very welcome plunge-pool.

Activities at Onguma The Fort

Onguma The Fort overlooks the main (though sporadic) water source of Etosha National Park, where zebra, giraffe, warthog and other animals come to drink. With views like that, you may want to just relax by the pool all the day, but if you want to see more wildlife on the thorn-tree dotted plains, you can head out on morning or sundowner game-drives.
