Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

Santorini Mozambique offers some pretty spectacular views from its perch, high on the red cliffs of Kingfisher Bay. On one side is the rugged Mozambican mainland, on the other, the little islands of the Bazaruto Archipelago.

Rooms at Santorini Mozambique

The hotel’s accommodation is spread between the Main Villa, the Chapel and the Villa da Praia. All have a beautiful rustic-chic design, with a breezy, beachy feel. This extends to the bathrooms, which are decorated with sea shells. The Grecian blue and white colour scheme lives up to the hotel’s name, evoking the traditional houses of Santorini, but the décor has an international feel – from beautiful carved Balinese doors to Indian antiques.

There are five suites in the Main Villa, each with a private patio, complete with sunloungers, where you can take in the view of the ocean. The villa also has a communal TV lounge and an iPod docking station. The Chapel and the Villa da Praia are standalone villas, perfect for families or larger groups, which offer extra privacy and the added bonus of a private pool.

Food & Drink

At the hotel’s restaurant, local chef Joao whips up a diverse menu of international cuisine, using fresh ingredients such as vegetables and herbs from the villa’s garden. Naturally, fresh seafood plays a large part, while pizzas from the pizza oven, enjoyed in the casual courtyard, are always a hit with guests. There’s also an extensive cellar of wines. Eating beneath the stars in the open-air beach boma is a real treat, with seafood barbecues held regularly.

Facilities

As if you weren’t relaxed enough already, a range of wellness therapies are on offer at Spa Na Colina, nestled up a hill and surrounded by palm trees. Treatments range from pedicures to aromatherapy, and use unique organic products inspired by the African environment – the signature treatment involves the use of local monkey apples.

Activities at Santorini Mozambique

The unspoiled island landscapes of the Bazaruto Archipelago are waiting to be discovered. Scuba divers can enjoy some of the best diving in the world here, spotting 2,000 species of fish, dolphins, turtles and dugongs. Kite surfing, bill fishing and trips on a dhow – a traditional wooden boat – are other great ways to explore the coastline.

On dry land, go hiking and horse riding to get to know the islands and spot the local wildlife, which includes suni and duiker antelopes, cheeky samango monkeys and over 180 species of birds.
