Hotel Overview

Where

On the Laikipia Plateau in the foothills of the snow-topped Mount Kenya, on a 50,000 acre reserve that’s home to a wealth of wildlife.

Rooms at Segera Retreat

The eight wooden and thatch private villas are elevated to allow optimum views around the surrounding savannah, with swing beds outside to laze in and take in all of the landscape’s glory – or indeed to spend the night in, underneath a crystal clear display of the stars. Inside, the chic villas contain a large bedroom with four-poster beds and an en-suite bathroom, and there’s a private sundeck and sunken Jacuzzi just outside. The resort houses one of the largest private collections of African art and your villa has its own unique, individually selected paintings.

Food and Facilities

Segera’s team of chefs pride themselves on using local and home-grown where possible to prepare exceptional and healthy meals. Take your pick of dining location, from the art-laden bar and dining room or in various alfresco spots around the retreat so that the beautiful landscapes are never out of sight. The Segera’s spa seeks to soothe mind, body and soul through a range of signature products and treatments, and there’s also a well-equipped gym and a swimming pool to cool off in.

Activities at Segera Retreat

Segera puts the sprawling savannah centre-stage with its selection of activities – get acquainted with the spectacular African wildlife on a game drive by day or when the nocturnal come to life after dark, picnic out on the open landscape with a gourmet meal rustled up by the chefs at Segera or take a guided walk in the wilderness with the resort’s knowledgeable staff.
