On a 5,000 acre private ranch in the wilds of Northern Kenya in the Samburu region.

Rooms at Ol Malo are split between the main lodge and the house (which can be taken privately for groups), but all have marvelous views. They blend effortlessly into the hillside with rocky walls, thatched roofs, wooden floors and amazing twisted and gnarled wooden furniture. There are four double rooms that are spaced out along the cliff edge that offer the guests complete privacy with their own unspoilt view out over Laikipia.

Meals are all part of the fun at Ol Malo – dinners by the fire, barbeques under the stars and surprise breakfasts in the middle of the bush. When you’re back at the ranch, there’s a lovely infinity pool offering you yet more majestic views.

Guests who stay at Ol Malo are swept along by the boundless enthusiasm of the Francombe family, who built Ol Malo and transformed the reserve into what it is today. With all of the freedom of a private conservancy, you really can do whatever you like. With the abundance of wild life on the reserve, the game drives always offer something new to look at and experience. You will also get the chance to explore this land on horseback or on foot and track the greater Kudu antelope from which the lodge takes its name.
