Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

Almost invisible to the eye on approach, Elewana Elsa’s Kopje Meru lies within Kenya’s untouched Meru National Park, blending into the rocky crags of the “kopje” (small hill), above the site of George Adamson’s original home.

Rooms at Elsa's Kopje

Guests are invited to select from eight spacious cottages, one Honeymoon Suite, spread over three levels, and a Private House complete with its own private swimming pool. Each of the open-fronted cottages are unique and provide en suite bathrooms, rustic roofs made from natural materials and private decks or verandas overlooking the stunning plains. Family cottages also come with outside baths, while the private house comes complete with an infinity pool.

Food & Drink

The talented team of cooks at Elewana Elsa's Kopja Meru combine fresh ingredients and professional experience to create an abundance of delicious dishes.

Facilities

The lodge also has an infinity swimming pool built into the natural rocks and massage room where you can enjoy a treatment with panoramic views over the wilderness.

Activities at Elewana Elsa's Kopje Meru

Whilst the two daily game drives are the main highlight, Elewana Elsa's Kopje Meru also offers guided bush walks, bush meals and sundowners, cultural visits, day excursions and the opportunity to go line fishing for catfish and barbel. Game sightings are quite common so you can expect to spot a few lions roaming the open plains or perhaps even the desert lynx, one of the rarest species in Meru National Park. Additionally, a visit is to the Rhino Sanctuary is a must, while a day trip to the Tana River, Kenya's longest river, is also highly recommended.
