Traditional high beamed ceilings and hand carved furniture reflect the local East African heritage in each of the 25 unique, air-conditioned rooms at The Majlis.  The rooms and suites have large windows and private terraces looking out to the beach and sea, garden and swimming pool.

Food and Facilities

The makuti thatched restaurant serves locally sourced, fresh seasonal produce in a superb setting, whilst the two bar areas are the ideal place to enjoy the sunset or a drink under the stars.   As well as the private beach, there are two swimming pools built in the shade of indigenous trees for a cool contrast to the warmth of the African sun.

Activities at The Majlis

A wide range of water sports, dolphin-watching, dhow sailing and deep sea fishing. are on offer and a boat trip to visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Lamu is highly recommended.  Looking for something a little more relaxing?  The Ayurvedic treatments at the Wellness Centre soothe and rejuvenate both body and mind.
