Hotel Overview

sense of place

Hidden in a remote corner of far eastern Botswana, the Northern Tuli Game Reserve feels like the wild heart of Africa. The landscape is beautiful, with the Limpopo and Shashe rivers meeting between otherworldly kopjes, dry riverbeds and sandstone hills. The reserve is known as the Land of Giants, such is the scale of its topographical features, from the baobab trees to the elephants and enormous skies.

rooms at tuli safari lodge

Tuli Safari Lodge is home to just 10 luxurious suites, which combine supreme comfort with a rugged, natural aesthetic. 8 of the suites are tented, built from timber and canvas and featuring large wrap-around decks offering panoramic views of the reserve, with the other 2 are thatched with solid walls. Both types of suite feature a classic African décor, and have large bathrooms; classic suites feature outdoor showers in private patio areas.

food & drink

Food at Tuli is an ever-changing selection of hearty bush fare, with barbecued meats, buffet salads and sumptuous breakfast spreads all designed to give you the energy you need for a day spotting wildlife in the bush. A great way to end a tiring day is with a classic South African braii barbeque, enjoyed under the stars. Special dietary requirements will happily be catered for with advance notice.

facilities

The lodge has a large swimming pool, which is perfect for cooling off after a day in the sun and features a shallow end for kids to play in. There’s also a scenic star deck positioned on top of one of the granite kopjes which dot the landscape, a great place to enjoy a sundowner or gaze up at the night sky, and a curio shop where you can pick up a souvenir of your stay, from clothing to books and local handicrafts.

activities at Tuli Safari Lodge

Two expertly-guided safari activities per day are included in your stay at Tuli, with game drives and bush walks the best ways to explore the wilderness. Walks are educational and gentle, not physically challenging, and yours can be completely tailored depending on your physical condition. Those of an adventurous inclination will have the chance to learn about the medicinal use of plants, tracking, and other survival skills. There are several hides at key points in the reserve, where you’ll stop to spot wildlife including elephants, hyenas, lions and cheetahs. You can even spend the night at one of the hides, which is equipped with a bathroom, for the ultimate bush adventure.
