Zarafa Camp

Location: Chobe & Linyanti | Botswana

Price guide: £££££ More than £500 per person per night

A member of Relais and Chateaux, Zarafa is a Great Plains Conservation Camp. Staying in the beautiful marquis-style tents, you'll have fantastic views over Selinda's floodplains, and Botswana's top predators drawn towards the breathtaking lagoon.
Perfect forCouples who want a more intimate safari, or tribes who want the whole camp to themselves.
In the knowBotswana is incredibly flat which makes the Selinda Spillway behave in peculiar ways: at certain times of the year it flows in both directions, and after exceptional rain-fall it can merge with the Kwando and Linyanti rivers.

Hotel Overview

Surrounded by extensive flood-plains on Botswana’s Selinda Concession.

Rooms at Zarafa Camp

So that the guides can give you a totally personalised service, there are just 4 tents at Zarafa Camp housing a maximum of 8 guests at a time. Open to the flood-plains, the marquis-style tents have magnificent views over the lagoon, and full-length verandas beneath the shade of trees. Inside, you’ll find wonderfully luxurious touches, including an en suite bathroom with a regal copper bath. Each tent also has a private plunge pool for cooling off in the afternoons.

Food and Facilities

Whether you’re having breakfast on the deck, or a lantern-lit dinner in the main tent, the views out over the floodplains will be a total feast for the eyes.

Activities at Zarafa Camp

Zafara offers game drives and bush walks on this predator-rich reserve, following in the footsteps of National Geographic who have worked closely with the camp for years. The encounters between large game and prey are a photographer’s dream (Lion versus Hippo is particularly spectacular to watch), as is the huge herd of elephants lumbering across the floodplains.
