Safari is hugely exhilarating, and the adrenaline buzz will keep you going throughout your adventure. However, with the early morning game drives it can also be quite tiring, so if you’ve just got married (in itself rather exhausting!), and taken a long-haul flight, we’d recommend a few days of taking it easy to set you off on the right foot. Take a look at Ras Kutani in Tanzania, Loldia House in Kenya and Birkenhead House in South Africa.
An African safari is often quite a sociable experience, sharing game drives and comparing tales around the camp fire! - so we definitely recommend having some time alone too... combining safari with the beach is always enormously popular with our honeymooners or alternatively you could head off to Cape Town and check out the many excellent restaurants and buzzing nightlife scene.
“Honeymoon specials” are still relatively rare on safari, and it’s unlikely you’ll get any official discounts or structured special offers. However, you can be sure that the staff in camp will always try to spoil you absolutely rotten, and delight and surprise you wherever possible: perhaps a candlelit dinner out in the bush, a bottle of champagne with your evening bath, or a special treat when you’re least expecting it.
