Fly into Lima for the first leg of your journey. After a night’s rest at the hip Hotel B, explore the surrounding Barranco district, with its buzzing café and arts scene and distinctive architecture from ornate mansions to the Puente de los Suspiros (Bridge of the Sighs). The ruins surrounding Cusco are just as fascinating, from the imposing Inca fortress of Sacsayhuaman to the Inca baths of Tambomachay and the terraces and turrets of Puca Pucara.
