The difference between the rooms is largely down to size but if you want a bathtub upgrade from a Superior to a Deluxe or for a room at the top, pick a suite, like the Deluxe Suite King, for its superb views. 

Lauded for its regional Italian cuisine, you shouldn’t consider staying here without trying the divine food at Restaurante Fasano. Booking will need to be made ahead but you’ll be rewarded with delicious dishes of spinach cavatelli with wild boar ragu, osso buco with saffron risotto and a tiramisu to write home about. For a spot of live music, head to the jazz bar Baretto and listen to the world-famous musicians pluck it out in an intimate setting or for a more casual and relaxed atmosphere, sink into the comfy chairs at Nonno Ruggero for a meal on the outdoor terrace.

As well as a rooftop pool decorated with antique fixtures, there’s a well-equipped gym, a spa that offers massages, body wraps and shiatsu treatments, a Japanese hot tub and a steam room.
