Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

Set in dense rainforest on the edge of the stunning Iguazu Falls, the Gran Melia Iguazu simply couldn’t be in a better or more beautiful setting for experiencing the majesty of one of the world’s great natural wonders.

Rooms at Gran Melia Iguazu

In contrast to the wild jungle scenes outside, the rooms and suites are modern, minimalist, light and airy, with chic decor, a sleek white colour scheme and polished wood floors. The bathrooms are decked out in beautiful polished marble, and the trendy furnishings are in whitewashed, slightly distressed wood.

The large windows and balconies make the most of the stunning views: many rooms face the falls, while others offer jungle vistas - we definitely recommend upgrading to a falls view for the ultimate Iguazu Falls experience, while the Royal Suite has a spacious terrace with a private pool overlooking the falls.

Food & drink

Enjoy light bites and cocktails by the pool or on the jungle-surrounded terrace of the elegant bar, followed by a meal in the restaurant, which also serves up incredible views alongside a delicious international buffet of dishes ranging from Argentine grilled meats to hearty pizzas and pastas, accompanied by live music.

Facilities

After a day in Iguazu, the hotel’s serene gardens are the place to be: take a dip in the huge infinity pool overlooking the falls, get active on the tennis court, or relax and unwind in the spa, where a range of massages and other treatments are on offer.

Activities at Gran Melia Iguazu

Iguazu Falls is of course the star of the show here, and as the hotel is in the national park itself, you can benefit from a headstart on the crowds arriving in the park when it opens each day. Various other tours will help you take in the falls, from jungle treks to trips to the legendary Devil’s Throat, a plunging chasm which is one of the most dramatic spots on the falls, with about half of their water flowing down it. Enjoy a memorable boat trip to the mouth of the falls, or take the La Selva eco-train for a scenic ride through the jungle spotting diverse plant and animal species. Day trips to the Brazilian side of the falls can also be arranged.

Aside from the falls, trek through winding jungle trails and go birdwatching, or discover Argentine traditions and culture on a visit to the city of Puerto Iguazu, 20km away - browse artisan handicraft shops and dine at traditional restaurants where you can try authentic barbecues and a glass of local wine.
