La Escondida Casa de Huespedes & Spa

La Escondida Casa de Huespedes & Spa is in Puerto Manzano, 7km from Villa La Angostura, and 3km from the Cerro Bayo ski centre. It is tucked away in a hectare of gardens, with almost 100 metres of its own private beach on the shores of Lake Nahuel Huapi.

This traditional Patagonian house features lenga, cypress and larch wood throughout. Huge picture windows allow natural light to flood the lodge while giving way to pretty views of the gardens and lake. The rooms are warm and homely, with individual touches making each one unique. Natural colour schemes blend in with the exterior views, allowing for prime relaxation.

At the Delfina restaurant, chefs use local ingredients to pay homage to traditional Patagonian kitchens while creating a unique experience by adding a contemporary touch. Enjoy your meals in a historic setting while taking in the views from floor-to-ceiling windows and the deck.

If the surroundings aren't relaxing enough, then head to the spa where you can immerse yourself in a heated pool or Jacuzzi, turn up the temperatures in a sauna or unwind with a massage. Stay active at the fully-equipped gym, where you can also enjoy views of the forest, and take a dip in the pool, overlooking the lake.

Go on a boat trip to discover every corner of Lake Nahuel Huapi and have a picnic on one of the islands. Hike to the Rio Bonito waterfall, which falls to a valley of emerald green water, or go to Cerro Bayo’s excellent ski and snowboard slopes, where you can take in breathtaking views of Villa La Angostura. Take a walk in Los Arrayanes National Park and admire the ancient 25-metre-high trees that can reach up to 600 years old.
