Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

With a variety of itineraries, the World Explorer can help you learn more about the history of the Falklands, discover the colony of King Penguins on South Georgia, fly or cruise the temperamental drake passage, watch elephant seals battle it out on the peninsula or cross the circle and head further south than you have ever been before.

Rooms onboard World Explorer

With direct ocean views guaranteed you will be able to fall asleep or wake up while watching icebergs floating by. With all cabins including a balcony you won’t be taking it in turns to peep out a port-hole to get a glimpse of the beautiful Antarctica wilderness.

With plenty of space to put your feet up, elegant neutral colour schemes with a selection of art and your own fridge and state of the art “infotainment” system, giving you daily ship programmes, selected movies and documentaries, your cabin will be the perfect home away from home.

Food & Drink

Both breakfast and lunch are served buffet style with dinner offered as à la carte, all in the open seating restaurant.  The World Explorer’s focus is the Antarctica wildlife so don’t panic if breakfast, lunch or dinner are slightly delayed as it will be because you are witnessing something much more exciting.

You won’t be going hungry during the day, with freshly baked cookies or pastries offered each afternoon and hot and cold snacks available during cocktail hour. The well-stocked bar will also make sure you are able to enjoy a drink with follow explorers while comparing stories of what you have seen.

Facilities

With a glass domed observation lounge and its panoramic polar views, observation decks and your own private balconies, there is plenty of space from which to watch this mysterious world go by.

If you are feeling a little lethargic we recommend going for a run on the outdoor running track, a splash in the outdoor saltwater heated pool or even to the gym and sauna, if you are in need of some warmth. The spa will help you to relax with massages, facials and hand and foot treatments.

To keep your brains ticking you can enjoy a selection of books from the library or listen to the experts enlighten you with their amazing knowledge of everything Antarctic in the lecture theatre.

Activities from World Explorer

As well as onshore explorations you can expect to enjoy zodiac cruising, getting that bit closer to the marine mammals, camping out under the stars, stand up paddle boarding or opt for the daily kayaking excursions.
