As Canada’s largest city, spend the first few days of your Ontario holiday indulging in the big city life. Soak up the glamour at the plush Ritz Carlton, housed inside a futuristic tower in central Toronto and home to a Spa My Blend and its very own cheese cave. Continuing the urban leg of your holiday, you’ll head north to Ottawa to spend two nights in the capital’s iconic Fairmont property. Dominating the skyline like a majestic castle, the hotel holds a historic position in the city and stands adjacent to the Parliament buildings. Spend your time exploring the cultural offerings in the capital, such as the National Gallery of Canada and the impressive Canadian War Museum. If you’re visiting during the summer months, take a leisurely boat along the UNESCO listed Rideau Canal or try white water rafting or kayaking along the Ottawa River.

Wave goodbye to the city and depart for Canada’s great outdoors. Algonquin National Park sits on the Southern Edge of the Canadian Shield and is the country’s oldest national park. You’ll spend three nights at the secluded Killarney Lodge, a family-run property set upon a private peninsula among the park’s pools and lakes. Go canoeing, black bear tracking, cycling or hiking, and retreat to the lodge for some hearty home cooked fare and a cosy evening in around the fire.

2 nights MUSKOKA

Muskoka is Canada’s answer to the Hamptons: classy, attractive, and hugely popular among Ontario’s elite. Immersed in spectacular woodland and surrounded by magnificent lakes, Muskoka is THE place to ‘summer’, but equally magnificent during fall. Spend two nights at the JW Marriott, nestled in the heart of the Muskaka lakes, and explore this picturesque region via bike, hike or boat. Swim in the shimmering waters, sip local wines on a dock, or stargaze after dark on a sophisticated stay in Canada’s countryside.

Round off your Ontario holiday at the province’s most picturesque town; Niagara-on-the-lake oozes olde world charm, with horse-drawn carriages parading through the streets and flower covered paths flanked by elegant 19th century buildings. Your final three nights will be spent at Shaw Club, an attractive inn resembling a suburban style home. Located along the main street, you’re well placed for exploring the town’s  wineries, boutique shops, galleries and riverfront, while the remarkable Niagara Falls are just a short drive away.

After three nights, return to Toronto Airport for your overnight return flight.
