The Other Side

Luxuriously nomadic, The Other Side is an island camp like no other. In a secluded spot on the sands, wake up to the sound of the shore as your tent opens up onto the beach. In a beautifully peaceful location, this is the perfect way to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

The Other Side brings a new twist to the term 'glamping’. Combining a beachside, island atmosphere with African safari-inspired accommodation, you can choose between a tent or a hillside ‘shack'. The large white tents are solar-powered and air-conditioned, and feature four-poster beds, wood furniture, woven rugs and chocolate-coloured wooden floors, alongside touches such as vintage record players and potted plants. Sink into your comfortable bed for a dreamy night’s sleep, or relax in the outdoor bathtub.

The ‘shacks’ provide an exciting alternative to the tents. Perched on top of the hill, looking out over the camp and onto the sea, they are designed with simplicity in mind so as not to detract from the stunning views, and the whitewashed walls and minimalist decor allow the surroundings to take centre stage. Each shack has a large sundeck in which to sit back and watch the sun set over the ocean.

The dining room occupies one of the four communal tents, where white tented walls enclose an eating and drinking space. The chefs prepare breakfast on a cook-to-order basis - have an indulgent cooked breakfast, or sample some fresh island fruit. The communal environment offers a laidback lunch and dinner setting, and you can eat from an a la carte menu, using fresh and local produce, including ingredients from the hotel's own vegetable patch.

Set away from the main town of Harbour Island, on a secluded stretch of golden sands, the camp provides the ultimate opportunity to rest and recuperate. Morning yoga classes are available, perfect for recharging the energy levels, while one of the main tents is filled with board games, a pool table and table tennis, making it a haven for gamers. The postcard-perfect saltwater pool is suspended above the ocean: take a swim or simply lounge on the surrounding sundeck.

With Harbour Island only a seven-minute boat ride away, on the hotel's own boat, take the opportunity to experience the shopping, fine dining and party scene that it is known for, as well as the famous pink sand beach.

Further north on the island, dive into the unique natural formation that is the Blue Hole, a jungle-surrounded pool that you can jump into and climb out of with rope ladders. Alternatively, explore the surroundings of Eleuthera, including deserted beaches and hidden caves.
