Bahama House

There are just 11 rooms here, guaranteeing a boutique, exclusive stay. The attractive interiors feature grass cloth wallpapers, tropical colours and bespoke artworks, and each room is furnished with a king or queen-sized bed and decorated with plush duvets and fluffy pillows: sink into your four-poster bed for a dreamy night's sleep. Wake up to views over the pool, the gardens or Rotunda Bay.

A delicious breakfast is expertly prepared every day by the hotel's Bahamian chef: enjoy fresh fruit and local specialities: the lobster and avocado Eggs Benedict are well worth waking up for. If you're off on an excursion, a tailor-made lunch box can be prepared in advance. Dinner can also be arranged, or alternatively the knowledgeable staff can recommend some great restaurants in the town for authentic Bahamian cuisine.

As the sun sets, head to the handcrafted tiki bar for a Goombay Smash cocktail under the tropical canopy.

The courtyard opens up to the freshwater swimming pool, shaded by tall palm trees, with Bahamian vintage rattan furniture to lounge on poolside. If that isn't relaxing enough, bliss out with some yoga on the beach. 

Whilst Harbour Island is famed for its laidback atmosphere, there are also plenty of options for adventure and exploration. Scuba and snorkel in the crystal-clear waters, go horse riding on the sands or go fishing and catch your own dinner.

Navigate the island with ease on a golf buggy, or make use of the hotel's 35-foot RIB boat, complete with a captain - it couldn't be easier to explore the neighbouring islands.
