Hotel Overview

Sense of place

Chable Yucatan is set in beautiful gardens thick with trees, and the hotel is committed to integration with the natural world. Within the gardens is a cenote, a natural sinkhole opening onto a network of underground tunnels, which are a famous feature of Yucatan and which are considered to be sacred.

Rooms at Chable Yucatan

Chable’s 38 casitas are spread throughout the resort’s lush gardens, and feature a modern, contemporary design with traditional Mayan touches paying tribute to the area’s history. Each casita was built around the walls of the original 19th-century hacienda, and features organic decorative touches such as tables hewn from tree trunks.

For extra privacy, choose one of the villas: the Presidential Villa features jungle views through its glass walls.

Food & Drink

At Chable, organic ingredients from the hotel’s own ‘Mayan garden’ are expertly used by the hotel's renowned chefs to create fantastic gourmet takes on classic Mexican and regional cuisine: the venison, a local speciality, is particularly highly regarded.

Facilities

Chable is home to a fantastic spa, which comprises pools, steam rooms, Jacuzzis and saunas. A range of treatments are also available, which are inspired by ancient shamanic rituals and use organic materials. The spa is centred around a cenote, a natural pit opening onto subterranean water, which is itself used in the spa treatments.

Activities at Chable Yucatan

The historic city of Merida lies just a 25-minute drive from the hotel: the cultural capital of the Yucatan Peninsula, here you’ll find beautiful colonial architecture, and the streets make for a lovely afternoon’s stroll.

Back at the hotel, you can learn some of the secrets of Mexican cuisine with a cookery class. Guests are also welcome to help tend the hotel’s Mayan garden should they wish, and learn about horticultural techniques favoured by the Mayans, which are being revived by the hotel’s gardener.
