Sense of place

Up in the Himalayan region of Ladakh, whose landscapes are characterised by dramatic mountains and turquoise lakes. Its geography was key in protecting Ladakh from the attacks of the Chinese, hence preserving its Tantric Buddhist society.

The six village houses are dotted across six locations: Stok, Shey, Nimmu, Likir and Igu. Some have roof terraces with sweeping views, others have courtyards and all reflect the traditional Tibetan styles, made with mud bricks and wooden beams.

Shakti Ladakh is a fully inclusive retreat, so all food and alcohol is provided.

Shakti Ladakh also offer more challenging treks and camping excursions into secluded areas of exquisite natural beauty. You may climb altitudes of up to 14,000ft, and stop to camp under canvas in Shakti tents, bringing you closer to this extraordinary place. And if that isn’t enough, you might also be interested in river rafting along the Indus and Zanskar Rivers, both fed by glaciers.
