Hotel Overview

Sense of place

The Taj Rambagh Palace is surrounded by landscaped gardens, yet is conveniently located in the heart of Jaipur, offering the best of both worlds, with the option of luxurious privacy or bustling city life.

Rooms at Taj Rambagh Palace

Taj Rambagh Palace’s rooms and suites have been painstakingly restored to their original state of grand luxury, with ornate, hand-carved marble latticework, sandstone balustrades and views over the beautiful landscaped gardens.

The Pothikana Suite, with its teak-panelled walls, plush English upholstery and French carpets, brings to mind a colonial library, while the Peacock Suite pays tribute to India’s national bird with stunning mosaic-covered walls and coloured glass sculptures. The elegant Rajmata Gayatri Devi Suite honours the memory of the former princess of Jaipur, who was an extremely successful, trailblazing politician in the mid-20th century and was renowned as one of the most beautiful women in the world.

Food & drink

There is a range of elegant dining and drinking options to suit all tastes. At Suvarna Mahal, housed in the palace’s opulent original dining room, rich, authentic cuisine is served from across Rajasthan, Awadh, Punjab and Hyderabad. In the Rajput Room, breakfast, light bites, coffee and tea are served all day surrounded by imposing marble arches, and at Steam, in a restored Victorian train station complete with a restored steam train, you can enjoy Middle Eastern shawarmas, wood-fired pizzas and more.

The colonial Polo Bar is a great place to relax with a cocktail or a whisky, while the Verandah Café offers afternoon tea in a serene garden setting.

Facilities

The opulence of this hotel is nowhere more evident than in the indulgent Jiva Grande Spa. In two exclusive spa suite tents, treatments are based on ancient Indian traditions, spanning head massages, facials and cupping treatments. There are also outdoor and indoor swimming pools for cooling off.

Activities at Taj Rambagh Palace

Stroll in the gardens, where you may see a strutting peacock, play a game of croquet on the lawns and consult the resident astrologer to see what your future holds.

Jaipur, Rajasthan’s capital, is known as the Pink City for its red sandstone buildings and painted boulevards, and is a historical treasure trove. The magnificent Amber Fort draws visitors from far and wide and is well worth a visit, but steer clear of the elephant rides to the top - the animals’ living conditions have been criticised. The City Palace is equally spectacular, while the 18th-century Jantar Mantar observatory, just next door, is home to the world’s largest sundial.
