The Pig

Location: Bath | UK

This third little piggy in the chainette of boutique hotels is the most grand of The Pig stays. This honey-hued stone Georgian country house is set in a Somerset deer park and has an earthy, all-English luxury style with quintessentially British views- but it is the sumptuous food that is The Pig’s raison d'être.
Perfect forFood lovers looking for a gastronomic paradise.
In the knowSettle into a deep leather sofa by the open fire and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere as you sip on a refreshing cocktail and munch on the hotel’s little retro snacks and piggy nibbles- and if you like this property, why not visit the sister Pigs in Brockenhurst and Southampton?

Hotel Overview

Where

Twenty minutes from Bath, near the idyllic village of Pensford.

Rooms at The Pig

Spread throughout the main house, barn and gardens, there are 29 rooms in shades of greens and creams, with big free-standing baths, walk-in monsoon showers and cosy rustic wooden interiors. Rooms in the garden are wonderfully romantic, with wood-burning stoves, small terraces and private entrances.

Food and facilities

Your evening meal will depend on what the forager finds or what the gardener deems to be in perfect condition. Every morsel of the menu, except for the wine, is sourced from within a 25-mile radius, and some of it isn’t even from 25 metres away. With the heart of the kitchen in the garden, The Pig grows anything from asparagus to rhubarb. Served on bare wooden tables in the Victorian greenhouse, enjoy truly unique courses of Kentucky fried wild rabbit with carrot puree and slow cooked crispy pig cheek with piccalilli and wild chive dressing.

Activities at The Pig

Pull on some Hunter wellies and follow the gravel and brick pathways that wind around the property to the Smoke House, Kitchen Garden, Greenhouse and wild flower meadow orchard. On the way back, visit the potting shed spa for a head-to-toe signature treatment that will leave you feeling rejuvenated and profoundly relaxed.
