Hotel Overview

sense of place

Coeur des Alpes is further up the hill from Zermatt, affording fantastic views but still close to all the action. The Klein Matterhorn ski lifts are just a stone’s throw from the hotel.

rooms at Coeur des Alpes

The rooms and suites have light flooding in through floor to ceiling windows; we recommend opting for those with extra space. Each on the first floor can interconnect, which is perfect for families. Otherwise, upgrade to the loft style suites for balconies and wraparound windows or better yet, stay in the Sky and River apartments. These are ultra-spacious with fully equipped kitchens, three bedrooms and living areas, all elegantly styled.

food & drink

Tuck into the buffet breakfast to fuel up for the day, and return in the afternoon for hot drinks and cake. The lobby is ideal for curling up with a glass of wine by the fireplace, or soak up the sun on the outdoor terrace. There is no restaurant but you can order snacks like salmon canapés or charcuterie platters throughout the day.

Indulge in the hotel spa, featuring an indoor pool, kneipp bath, hammam, bio-sauna, tanning room, caldarium and fitness room. Let the stress melt away with a massage or head outdoors for a dip in the hot tub.

activities at Coeur des Alpes

Get outdoors and into the pristine natural surroundings of Zermatt, whether that’s hiking, mountain biking and rock climbing in summer; or skiing and snowboarding in winter. Hop on Europe’s highest cable car and soar towards the summit where the viewing platform commands 360 degree views – you’ll be treated to vistas of towering peaks and glaciers. See if you can make out Mont Blanc, too.

Hotel location

It’s a five minute walk to the centre of Zermatt, which is delightfully free of cars. If you are driving, the best place to leave the car is in a parking lot in Täsch, from where you can take the shuttle train to Zermatt (departing every 20 minutes). If travelling by train, the journey takes a little over three hours. Upon arrival in Zermatt, a representative of Coeur des Alpes will meet you at the station or taxi stand and take you to the hotel by electric taxi.
