Parador de Ronda is a four-star hotel in a historic building in the Andalucian city of Ronda. It was once the city’s town hall, so it follows that it has a pretty unbeatable location – in between the iconic Puente Nuevo and the Ronda bullring. Enjoy stunning views over the El Tajo Gorge and the Tagus River, which snakes along the canyon bed.
Perfect forA comfortable stay with an incredible view in central Ronda.
In the knowLiterature buffs may remember the El Tajo Gorge from Ernest Hemingway’s For Whom the Bell Tolls – nationalist sympathisers are unceremoniously chucked down the ravine in the great Spanish Civil War novel.

Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

Hanging on a cliff edge, overlooking a deep ravine and the Tagus River 120 metres below, Parador de Ronda has a pretty spectacular location. The hotel sits next to Ronda’s famous Puente Nuevo bridge, and the historic streets of the city’s Arab Quarter are on your doorstep.

Rooms at Parador de Ronda

Parador de Ronda’s guestrooms have a tasteful, contemporary feel, with lavender-hued walls, high ceilings and beautiful polished wood floors. The rooms are spacious enough to include separate seating areas with big, comfy sofas, and the lovely bathrooms are decked out in beautiful black marble. Many of the rooms feature stunning vistas over the El Tajo Gorge: some also have their own balconies, where you can sit and take in the views.

Food & Drink

At the Restaurante Tamizia, you’ll find a wide-ranging menu which pays homage to the culinary traditions of Andalucia. Some of the dishes you should be certain to sample during your stay are shoulder of suckling Malaga goat, rabo de toro a la rondena (stewed bull’s tail) and fruit brandy egg yolk sweets for dessert. Breakfast takes the form of a hearty buffet spread of fresh fruit, pastries, cereals and cooked options. The terrace bar, overlooking the pool, is a great place to relax with a glass of wine and take in the stunning views over the gorge.

Facilities

The outdoor pool is a great place to cool off from the Andalucian sun – just make sure the breathtaking views over the ravine don’t prove so distracting you forget to paddle!

Activities at Parador de Ronda

The hotel’s location, and Ronda’s compact nature, mean the city’s main attractions are within easy reach. The Puente Nuevo bridge, adjacent to the hotel, is an icon of the city, perched dramatically across the ravine; on the other side of the hotel is the city’s famous bullring, where modern bullfighting took shape back in the 18th century. A walk to the historic Arab Quarter will take you past Moorish walls, gates and bathhouses, while the 19th-century Alameda Del Tajo park is the perfect place to relax after a morning’s sightseeing.
