Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

Verdura Resort is nestled in 230 hectares of  sun-kissed Mediterranean coastline on Sicily’s southern coast, set on a white-sand beach. It is one hour from the ancient ruins at the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento and 20 minutes from the historic fishing town of Sciacca.

Rooms at Verdura Resort

Verdura has over 200 spacious and contemporary rooms, suites and villas, designed by Olga Polizzi and taking inspiration from traditional Italian style and the surrounding landscapes. Each one has spectacular views of the Mediterranean, with a private terrace or balcony overlooking 1.2 miles of private coastline, alongside king-sized four-poster beds, a neutral colour palette, Sicilian majolica tiles and warm stone bathrooms.

Most rooms are interconnecting and some of the suites have kitchenettes, which are fantastic options if you’re travelling with the family. Suites can be also be joined to create your own villa - complete with a spacious private pool and Jacuzzi. The elegant villas have living and dining areas and several terraces to relax on in the sun.

Food & Drink

Food is at the heart of Sicilian culture and Verdura Resort reflects this by using fresh local produce in its several restaurants, which showcase irresistible Italian flavours. Start the morning with breakfast at Buon Giorno, overlooking the infinity pool, and later in the day, enjoy seafood at Amare on the beach or traditional trattoria-style classics at Liola while taking in the panoramic clifftop views. We also love the Zagara restaurant for its beautiful Mediterranean food, which you can enjoy on the terrace, overlooking the sea.

As the sun sets, enjoy exotic cocktails in the Granita Bar, made with ingredients from the gardens.

Facilities

Golfers will love the two Kyle Phillips-designed championship golf courses as well as the smaller nine-hole course set amongst olive and orange groves overlooking the sea. There are also tennis courts and a fitness centre with yoga and an indoor lap pool. The 4,000-square-metre spa, one of the largest in Europe, offers a host of treatments using Sicilian products.

There is a children’s club during summer months, a creche and a club just for teenagers, so the younger members of the family certainly won't be bored.

Activities at Verdura Resort

There’s plenty to keep active souls busy, from biking through the resort grounds to windsurfing, and you can hone your sports skills from sports stars themselves. Foodies will enjoy learning how to cook arancini, a local speciality, or taking part in tempting wine and olive tasting.

The sandy beach at Verdura overlooks the beautiful azure waters of the ocean, while the pool and terrace provide a comfortable alternative to while away the days.
