Hotel Overview

Sense of place

Located within the Umbrian valleys in central Italy, 40 minutes north of Orvieto.

Rooms at Eremito

Monastic throughout, the ‘celluzze’ rooms were used by hermits back in the day, and are small and simple with wrought iron beds and en suite bathrooms but also offer comfortable luxuries, such as cushiony futons, pillows and handmade hemp yarn bedding.

Food and facilities

Reflecting the overall theme, The Refectory serves simple and healthy dishes, made from vegetables and herbs grown in the hotel’s own organic garden. With a large stone fireplace and fabulous views of the woods, expect to dine on seasonal meals alongside homemade breads, pastas, jams and cakes.

Activities at Eremito

With an ‘Ayurveda sleep and wellbeing’ course and the ‘awakening of inner energy’ class, a lot of your time could be spent joining in the daily yoga sessions on offer. In between your mediation, you can saddle up and go horse riding or lace up your boots and take a walk in the woods along the Chiani river. If you really want to get involved, those with a green thumb can get hands-on in the vegetable garden, those who sing, can practice with the Gregorian chant workshop, or for the more arty-types, get creative with some icon painting.
