2 nightsMILAN

After touching down in Milan, we’ll whisk you to the chic, couture-central Bulgari Hotel Milano. Originally an 18th-century palazzo, its sleek, contemporary rooms will provide the perfect blank canvas for your armfuls of designer goodies, and after a day of shopping you’ve got the spa and courtyard gardens to relax in. First things first though: hit the designer mecca of Quadrilatero d’Oro, which is right on your doorstep. Here you can pick up the latest ‘it' bag,’ have a suit tailored, and feel like you’ve stepped into a shoot for Italian Vogue.

Alternatively, if you’re on the hunt for some classics, we can direct you towards the designer outlets and second-hand stores where you can pick up beautiful Italian leather items. Opt for a personal shopping experience to guide you on the latest trends and help you find the perfect styles and colour combinations. On top of high fashion, Milan is also home to exquisite Renaissance art and architecture. Don’t miss Da Vinci’s ‘The Last Supper,’ and for a dose of history gaze up at the glass ceilings of the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele arcade, which is one of the oldest in the world.

2 nightsBLEVIO

With the Vuitton cases packed to bursting, pick up your car and drive to the queen of old-school glamour: Lake Como. Stop at the Blevio commune, 40 kilometres north of Milan in Lombardy. Located on the eastern shore of Lake Como, Blevio is fractured into seven parts, known as the ‘seven cities’. Serving blissful views of the river and surrounding mountains, it is a big hit with historians and archaeology buffs.

One of its most iconic landmarks is the Nairola Stone – a giant flat granite table from the Neozoic age, transported from Alpine glaciers. The ruins of the 19th-century Castle of Ardona are also fascinating to see. The positively regal Mandarin Oriental, Lago di Como, where you’ll be staying, offers complimentary access to the wellness area where you can lounge on a real 19th-century dock and catch a complimentary shuttle to downtown Como.

3 nightsBellagio

Sitting in the middle of the forked Lake Como, Bellagio holds George Clooney and many A-listers among its fans. Once you see its picturesque waterfront, with rows of red-roofed cubic houses stacked up against the mountainside, you’ll understand why. This pretty village is renowned for its charming cobblestoned streets, Renaissance influence and elaborate rhododendron-filled terraced gardens.

Bellagio is steeped in history and has many villas from the 16th and 17th centuries dotted around. The lakeside Villa del Balbianello in Tremezzo is both a residence and museum overlooking the Grigne Mountains. You will be staying at the glamorous and award-winning Grand Hotel Tremezzo with a restaurant that sits right above the lake and sumptuous suites decorated in Art Nouveau style.
