Hotel Overview

Sense of place

Hotel Brunelleschi sits in the centre of the city, just a few steps from Santa Maria del Fiore, the Uffizi Gallery, Ponte Vecchio and the Piazza della Signoria.

Rooms at Hotel Brunelleschi

A flourishing mash-up of eras, such as the ones that have shaped the hotel’s exterior, the rooms are marked by both classical and modern features - you can expect brick walls, ancient cocciopesto floors, a medieval-like love of red, green and purple velvets and chandeliers that could rival that of the Rococo, perfectly intertwined with plush beds, glass stairways and iPod docking stations. The travertine marble bathrooms and silver basins are particularly fine, as are the exquisite views of the Duomo from some of the well-placed bedsides.

The duplex Pool Suite has a Jacuzzi to relax in, as well as a four-poster bed and beautiful views, while the aptly-named Deluxe Executive Panorama room features 360-degree vistas over the romantic landmarks of Florence.

Food & Drink

Seasonal and locally-sourced dishes can be enjoyed in the Osteria della Pagliazza restaurant, such as eggplant ravioli and delicious Fiorentina steak with fagioli al fiasco, while the exclusive Santa Elisabetta restaurant, with just a handful of tables set up in the round hall of the tower, offers a very special experience. Book ahead and make sure not to miss out on the tasting menu! We love the meat one, which might start with beef tartare, quail eggs and salted ricotta, followed by fresh pasta tagliolini with pecorino cheese and bacon and suckling pig with zucchini, ending with a decadent dessert such as a dark chocolate sphere and Piedmont hazelnut mousse topped with coffee and almond brittle sauce.

Facilities

There's no need to miss your regular workout - just head to the hotel's well-equipped gym.

Activities at Hotel Brunelleschi

If you're interested in art and history but don’t want to suffer the crowds, visit the hotel’s private museum. With ceramic artefacts, historic fragments and intriguing objects dating back to 541AD, the Pagliazza Museum has quite a collection, but its true jewel is the beautiful Roman caldarium - which is definitely worth a visit.

Further afield, the hotel is in a pedestrian area and so it couldn’t be easier to explore Florence on foot. Step out, head west and within seconds you’ll be in the main square, Piazza della Repubblica. From here, it is south to the famous Uffizi Gallery and the Ponte Vecchio or north to the cathedral and the Basilica of San Lorenzo. You can also borrow one of the hotel's bikes to explore.
