Hotel Overview

Sense of place

Hotel Balestri is only a stone’s throw away from Florence’s most iconic landmarks, including the Ponte Vecchio bridge, the Uffizi Gallery and Piazza del Duomo.

Rooms at Hotel Balestri

Hotel Balestri places comfort and style at the forefront with minimalist décor in their light and spacious rooms, alongside polished marble bathrooms. The wooden and bronze accents bring warmth and character, with the walls painted in ivory, offset by bold-coloured sofas and armchairs.

Choose the cosy Superior Room or Junior Suite for a romantic space with a living area for sipping wine together or a Cathedral or River View Room for stunning views of Florence from an exclusive and intimate vantage point. If you’re travelling with the kids, the family room combines homely creature comforts with unparalleled luxury. Children are welcomed with a special surprise on arrival and toddlers up to the age of three stay for free (with cribs, bottle warmers and other necessities available on request).

Food & Drink

Feast in the lavishly decorated Caffè Balestri where a selection of organic produce is served. The breakfast room is especially elegant, with high vaulted windows, deep purple leather armchairs and gold and ochre accents that give the place an air of sophistication and luxury. Enjoy a sumptuous buffet of fruit salads, yoghurts and cheeses each morning, with a freshly-cooked breakfast of eggs and bacon.

Facilities

Relax on the charming roof terrace after a memorable day’s sightseeing, looking out over the city.

Activities at Hotel Balestri

The knowledgeable staff are more than happy to recommend the best activities and places to visit including trips outside of Florence to Chianti (where the wine of the same name, sold in a distinctive squat bottle, is brewed) and to the colourful Cinque Terre fishing village on the Ligurian coast.

Take a romantic boat trip along the River Arno, and visit the magnificent Duomo, or Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, adorned with over 40 stained-glass windows and frescoes by artists like Vasari and Zuccari. The cathedral also has a museum and the biggest masonry dome in the world. Wander along the cobblestone streets and every corner you turn will have gorgeous Renaissance architecture and grand palazzis. The Uffizi Gallery and Galileo Galilei museum are just around the corner from the hotel.

Fashion fiends will have the time of their life shopping at the boutique stores dotted all over the city - some of them were opened by designers like Gucci and Salvatore Ferragamo in the 1920s, making Florence a fashion destination revered by stylists and fashion pundits.
