3 nightsDUBROVNIK

Flying into Dubrovnik, you’ll be hit by the beauty of its shining star. Pushed up against Mount Srd and hemmed in by the limpid sea, Dubrovnik is almost fantastical with its terracotta roofs, encircling stone wall and World Heritage-listed Old Town. With a firm emphasis on water-based activities, the Hotel Dubrovnik Palace is an ideal base for you and the family to jump from one water sport to the next. Swim in one of the three pools, take a dive at the scuba centre or race into the cooling sea from the beach. Your hotel is just 10 minutes from the iconic Old Town where you can explore the Rector's Palace, Franciscan Monastery and Dominican Monastery, or go on a Game of Thrones walking tour. Though the kids might be too young to have watched Game of Thrones, they’ll still get hooked on the stories of dragons, warriors and princesses, while you’ll get to follow in Joffrey’s footsteps at Lovrijenac Fortress, stand where Arya Stark did in season one and hear stories about filming in ‘King’s Landing’ – it’s worth every minute!

7 nightsKorcula

Taking a ferry to Vela Lukaon the western tip of Korcula island, you’ll head to Korcula town for the next stop on your Croatian adventure. Among the greenest of the Adriatic islands, Korcula is picturesque and covered in vineyards and olive groves. Korcula town, a centuries-old fortified citadel which juts out into the sea, is beautiful and home to some spectacular buildings such as St. Mark’s Cathedral. Culture vultures will love it here; the Town Museum tells the story of Korcula through the centuries, while the Icon Museum houses several Byzantine religious icons and ritual artefacts. You can enjoy fantastic views of Korcula from the Marco Polo Tower, connected to a house said to be the one-time home of the famous traveller. You'll spend your time in Korcula at the wonderful Hotel Korsal.

You may also wish to consider a day trip to Mljet, Croatia's greenest island.
