Hotel Overview

Where

The Boatshed is situated just above the sun-drenched bay and white sandy beaches of Oneroa, about half an hour’s ferry ride from Auckland.

Rooms at The Boatshed

The Boatshed’s individually-designed suites are totally private enclaves, with panoramic views of the ocean below. For the classic beach-hut look, opt for one of the three quintessential beachside suites, or if you’re looking for something a little more romantic, the three-storey Lighthouse is perfect. Oozing character, this suite is decorated with a calming palette of washed-back blues and whites and is littered with nautical-themed items, including telescopes and lifebelts. Watch the distant sailing boats pass by from your private deck, connected to the main property by vast glass doors.

Food and facilities

Dinner is exclusively for guests, so you can expect the staff’s full attention during your meal. Specialising in delectable seafood platters and gourmet meat cuts with fresh home-grown produce, The Boatshed’s daily-changing menus will please everybody. In summer, try dining privately on your balcony.

Activities at The Boatshed

Waiheke Island is renowned for its vineyards. Try the Casita Miro Vineyard nearby for wine-tasting, or, if you’re not a wine fan, the Jurassic Ridge Home Vineyard and Winery offers olive oil tastings. Alternatively, take a beachside walk to Oneroa, or walk along the clifftops for the best views.
