Hotel Overview

Sense of place

Set in peaceful gardens lined with palm trees, The Bower feels set away from it all, but it’s just a 15-minute walk into the centre of town - and 20 minutes to the beach.

Rooms at The Bower

Accommodation at The Bower is split across luxurious suites, a converted barn and cottage, and the larger Bower House. Suites sleep two to four people, while the house sleeps up to eight, and the cottage up to 10 people, making this an ideal option for families and groups. They are light and airy, and look out over the tropical gardens.

The rooms are modelled after New York design, and they certainly wouldn’t look out of place in hipster hangouts like Williamsburg - Byron’s beach spirit abides, though, in the rattan furniture and wicker wall hangings. The interiors have a minimalist design, with wooden floors, whitewashed walls and dark furniture, and the stylish bathrooms have distressed brass fittings, giving them a vintage look. Amenities are cutting edge, including fast Wi-Fi and smart TVs with Netflix, while the larger suites, cottage and house have kitchens so you have the freedom to self-cater if you wish.

Food & drink

There’s no restaurant, but you can enjoy delicious food made-to-order in the comfort of your suite. Locally-produced goat’s cheese, cured meat and fresh seafood are among the goodies that go into lovingly-prepared hampers, delivered to your door by request. Alternatively, all but the smallest suites have kitchenettes or kitchens so you can make your own meals, while The General Store, just next door, is a trendy café open for food throughout the day.

Facilities

Massage treatments can be enjoyed in your room, while surf boards, beach towels and umbrellas are available to borrow for a day at the beach.

Activities at The Bower

Byron Bay is one of Australia’s most iconic coastal towns, home to beautiful beaches ripe for surfing, swimming or just sunbathing on the golden sand. Whether you’re a seasoned surfer or a complete beginner, there are lessons on hand to help you progress to the next level, while scuba diving is also a popular activity in these parts.

Away from the water, borrow a bike to explore the coastline, or enjoy a gourmet sunrise breakfast at Byron's iconic lighthouse. Byron is also something of a centre of spiritualism, and you can evoke its aura with a private yoga and meditation session.
