Hotel Overview

Where

Looking out towards the Kapamba river in one of the wildest parts of South Luangwa National Park.

Rooms at Zungulila

The 4 thatched tents house a maximum of 8 guests, so whether you’re a family or small group of friends, Zungulila couldn’t be more intimate. Raised just above the sun-baked earth, you’ll feel totally immersed in the bush, and at the end of a day of walking you’ll relish the al fresco shower and luxurious plunge-pool.

Food and Facilities

The food at Zungulila really is excellent; jutting out over the flood-plains, the dining deck is a great place to get to know your guides (and the occasional croc peering sneakily from below!) A particular highlight is having a sunset G and T in the shallows of the river-bed.

Activities at Zungulila

If you’re a seasoned safari-goer who wants to gain a detailed understanding of the bush, or a newbie who wants to start from the ground up, Zungulila’s walking safaris are the best way to do it. As well as experiencing the crunches of twigs beneath your boots, and scent of the scrub-land, the knowledgeable guides will point out tiny critters that you would whizz past on a game drive. It’s not all on a micro-scale though: the incredible mix of wildlife includes herds of roaming buffalo, and elephants having a slurp from the springs.
