Settled in and amongst the wilderness, Mweya Safari Lodge is distinctively positioned on a peninsula with panoramic views of the magnificent Kazinga Channel. Surrounded by crater lakes and the Rwenzori Mountains, this hotel sits on the edge of Lake Edward which spans across both Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The hotel offers a wide range of rooms, suites and cottages, tailoring to both couples and families. Each room has a balcony which looks out onto picturesque views of the landscapes and are tastefully decorated with modern and traditional elements. The suites are both rustic and elegant, with kitchenettes and living rooms, whilst the chic tents offer a safari feel like no other, coupled with private bathrooms and air conditioning.

Food & Drink

Experienced chefs have created an exciting menu of both local and international specialities to enjoy in the traditional dining room or outside on the veranda, listening in to the wilderness at night. On Saturday evenings, guests are treated to a barbecue with traditional dancers. Be sure to book onto the Bush Breakfast, where you’ll be driven to a beautiful picnic spot to devour a freshly-prepared breakfast alongside hippos, warthogs and other wildlife and birdlife in the wildest of settings.


Enjoy the African sun at the infinity pool and relax with a cocktail in hand on one of the sunloungers, whilst identifying the different wild animals cooling off in the Kazinga Channel below.

To reach Mweya Safari Lodge, fly into Uganda’s Entebbe International Airport and take a less than one-hour flight to the airstrip at Mweya, arriving on the doorstep of the lodge itself, or embark on the scenic six-hour drive through rural Uganda.
