Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

Ideally located for chimpanzee tracking, Kyambura Gorge Lodge sits on the edge of Kyambura Gorge and Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Rooms at Kyambura Gorge Lodge

There are eight beautiful, airy and modern wood and thatch bandas perched up on the hillside, all named after chimpanzees in Kyambura Gorge. They come with private bathrooms have flushing toilets and hot showers, and balconies offering spectacular views out towards the gorge and the surrounding grassland. Guests can enjoy personal butler service.

Food & Drink

The main lodge was once a coffee store, and its redesign has incorporated a dining area and a veranda with lovely views.

There’s a saltwater swimming pool looking out over the Rwenzori Mountains, Queen Elizabeth National Park and Kyambura Gorge - perfect for cooling off in while taking in the vistas. Unwind after a day's wildlife spotting with a massage - guests can enjoy one complimentary massage during their stay.

Activities at Kyambura Gorge Lodge

This is paradise for wildlife lovers. Activities here are incredibly diverse: guests can track chimps, go for game drives on the plains of the national park (looking out in particular for tree-climbing lions, elephants and hippos) and take boat trips on the Kazinga Channel.

Birdwatching is a must here too - the myriad of brightly-coloured flitting, diving, swooping creatures is mesmerising. There are also hikes in the Rwenzori Mountains, and some fantastic walks through the surrounding countryside to see some of the projects that the lodge supports in the local community.
