Early the following morning, you’ll take a light aircraft flight straight to Vamizi Island which lies on a blissfully remote sand-spit just off Mozambique’s north-east coast. Wake up on your first day in your vast private villa: muslin canopies rippling in the breeze, and waves lapping on the shores, before doing absolutely nothing on the 8km stretch of deserted beach. Beyond this, we guarantee you’ll lose all track of time as you explore this tiny sliver of island, head out sport-fishing, and plunge into the incredible diving and snorkelling for which Vamizi is famed (depending on the time of year, you’ll have the chance to see humpback whales, turtles, and even whale-sharks). Spend your final evening at Vamizi Island sharing dinner with your toes in the sand, and watching dhows glide past with the day’s catch, before flying back to Dar Es Salaam where you’ll connect with your return flight home.
