3 nightsCAPE TOWN

Your honeymoon will start in Cape Town, where you’ll be positioned between the rugged cliffs of Table Mountain and the pearly-white sands of Clifton Beach. The intimate and ever-stylish Cape View Clifton offers raised views over the crescent-shaped beaches and ocean below and serves as an ideal location for exploring both the City Bowl, Atlantic Seaboard and Cape Peninsula. If it’s your first time to South Africa, hit the highlights by soaking up the sun at the top of Table Mountain, listening to the first-hand accounts of prisoners on Robben Island, and by eating your way through the colourful culture of the Malay Quarter. Visit the vineyard-draped suburb of Constantia to sample some of the area’s sweet wines and high-quality reds – we recommend paying a visit to Groot Constantia, the oldest wine estate in the country, which also offers a chocolate and wine-pairing tour, for quite the indulgent afternoon!

4 nightsSABI SANDS

Leaving the coast, you’ll take an internal flight to Sabi Sands Game Reserve for an unforgettable few days. Your base is the romantic Lion Sands River Lodge, situated in the heart of the South African wilderness, where you can live out the authentic safari experience. Spend your mornings and afternoons on a game drive or guided walk, keeping your eyes on the underbrush to spot grazing antelopes or snoozing lions or on treetops for shy leopards and towering giraffes. If you are the sporty type, you might like to try mountain biking and archery. Alternatively there’s a pool for leisurely hours spent reading a book and a list of spa treatments with your name on it. Probably the most beautiful sleep-out we’ve ever seen, consider spending a night at the Chalkley Treehouse, a lavish platform with a canopied bed set beneath the stars, for a night of just the two of you, surrounded by the sounds of the African bush.

5 nightsBENGUERRA

Transported to Mozambique’s untouched coast, lapped by the warm Indian Ocean, you’ll end your honeymoon with five nights of pure beach relaxation at Azura Benguerra Island. An eco-retreat built entirely by hand of the local community, the thatched villas are just steps from the beach and lie within a national park. You’ll have your own infinity pool, so wake up slowly with a quick plunge and a hearty breakfast before gearing up and heading full steam into the plethora of water-based activities available. Snorkel or scuba dive to the magnificent reefs, where you can swim with turtles, whales, dolphins, and if you are extremely lucky, the elusive dugong. Marlin, sailfish and tuna will give any keen angler a run for their reel and those who want to try dhow sailing or paddle boarding will be rewarded with superb views of the island, especially at sunset.
